WHAT HAPPENED?

In observance of holy week I didn't update my blog. I was in Tali beach from Good Friday until the morning of Easter Sunday. We were supposed to leave last Thursday but there was change of plan because we heard that south Luzon expressway was congested. So we left early morning of Good Friday. The metro was quiet. It was surprising! The city was comparable to a ghost town. All roads lead to the province. On our way, I noticed that there was no radio station. I skimmed and scanned more until I got music on the radio frequencies. To my surprise only one station was broadcasting. It was 95 point something. As we were into our exodus to Tali beach, I've observed that the traffic was moderate and it was going be a peaceful journey. So did I think! I’ve realized that there was something wrong. It was the freaking music! They were playing “Barbie girl” on the radio. As the song goes “ I’m a Barbie girl in a Barbie world….” I became pissed. I had no choice because there was no other radio station. My dad had to stay awake that’s why I can’t turn off the stupid radio! It was torture for crying out loud! My ears are starting to bleed as songs like “Dr. Jones and songs byAqua” are being played. The sight of our destination was alleviating me from the pain of listening to those faggot like songs! I am so thankful to God that the trip was over and I no longer have to listen to that radio station from hell. I could hear the choir of angels singing the hallelujah chorus! We went to Tali beach with the Antonio, Ripoll and Araneta family. The placed where we stayed are owned by the Araneta’s. It was a modern Spanish Casita. The house was spacious and we enjoyed the luxuries of three pools in the place. The Casita was overlooking a captivating view. The sea was stunning; you can even see it at the porch. The guestroom was humungous. The room even has second floor with windows overlooking the sea. It was a relaxing feeling having to stay in that place. Isn’t it funny when you meet someone that doesn’t like you at first and in the end you end up as close friends? I met Carlos Araneta. He told me that he doesn’t like me for no reason at all. Weird huh? Tell me about it! But thanks to my YFC training (which made me friendly), I was able to befriend him and in the end we became close friends. He even told me he enjoyed my company and he is hoping to see me again. The secret is having him to open up with me. We played truth or dare and lots of games. We got close on our trip at the beach. The beach was gorgeous but we’ll get to that later. Let’s go back to how me and Carlos became friends. I saw him sun bathing and I told myself that that was the chance to befriend him. I lay next to him. I told him that I love to get a tan. The response was the hint that he was taking the bait. I was able to lure him to open up. He told me that he loved to get a tan too. I replied and told him that I love the beach. The answer was great because he informed me that he adores the beach so much. He even old me that it was something that we had in common. With that, I was able to establish common ground. The conversation started to get interesting as time progressed. The plan to befriend him was successful. Now, we can talk about the beach. When I saw it, only one thing came to my mind and it was to forget Boracay. The beach captivated my heart. As a beach bum and a sun worshipper I know a good beach when I see one. Tali beach is so much better than Boracay because it has not yet been discovered by mainstream tourism. The thing I hate about Boracay is that it is too congested. Whenever I hear Boracay the word “poser” comes into my mind. Boracay has been the target of social climbers because media is teaching us that it’s in to be in Boracay. Although I’m not saying that everybody that goes to Bora is a social climber and I like to make that clear. Tali beach won my heart because the beach was so private and tranquil. It’s not the place for posers because you can’t flaunt there because there is no one to watch you show off! The sand was somewhat comparable to powder because it was so white. As it gets darker the color of the sand also changes. The beach is also good for snorkelling. The choral reefs in that place are abundant. In fact there are already chorals near the shore. You only have to go to the part where the water is knee-deep and you would already see a school of fish. The water was in fact clear. If I would compare the experience with one word it would be “paradise”. The vacation was really relaxing. It gave me the sense that summer has in deed started. I tried to sleep as much as I can and I was able to rest my body which is deprived of a complete rest because of the torments of school work. It was the trip that I was longing for. Another thing that I love about this trip is I got the tan that I’ve always wanted. I’m three shades darker with my cheeks at a very reddish state. At my last night at paradise, I walked along the shore. I was pondering about a lot of things. I’m listening to my mp3 and I was singing “Wherever you are”as I was strolling. The song was so touching. My favorite part is “I love to see the ocean's beautyAnd the moon that shines aboveAlone in the sand lookin at the starsWishing someday I would find true love” .
It was weird because it was describing what I was feeling that moment. Every vacation has to end and it was a sad feeling leaving that paradise. Anyway, Happy Easter everyone!
