I survived my first week in class! First week, was hectic because there were a lot of requirements for every subject. Now, I am experiencing a shortage of 1x1 I.D. pictures because it seems that every subject is requiring it. I sense that I have a cool set of teachers. The first impression was great I just hope that it will remain that way. Mr. Garcia, my P.E. teacher, is my only teacher from 3rd year that teaches in 4th year. I must say that I am bowled over by my new adviser, Mr. Montero. He is completely different from my last year’s adviser, the living legend, Ms. Arboleda! Their approach differs in a lot of ways. It’s just like comparing the sun to the moon. Ms. Arboleda’s approach is the mother like caring adviser. On the other hand, Mr. Montero seems to be using the barkada type of guiding the class. Ms. Arboleda could be very hands on and Mr. Montero is very much carefree. Both of them have their pros and cons. All I can say is that I both enjoy their styles. They may differ like hell but they are both effective. I thought I am not going to enjoy my new adviser’s company but au contraire I did enjoy it! He is so much fun. For him learning is supposed to be fun. I have an interesting set of classmates. It’s really a mixed bag! There are a lot of familiar faces and at the same time new faces. All I did this week is to bond with them. I just find the class in mediocrity. I mean it’s not that I like them too much and I don’t hate them much either. Nevertheless, it’s too early to say what’s going to happen. For all I know, this class could be the blast. I just couldn’t get over SFX. I miss the class, I miss the adviser and I miss the bonding! I’m so attached to SFX to the point wherein I wrote IV-SFX instead of IV- SAL on my index card. Anyway, I’d give this class a chance because it deserves it. The set of teachers in 4th year is amazing! I find them cool except for the *** teacher who is old and I think he is boring. Anyway, most of my teachers are young fresh graduates from U.P. You can definitely feel their fire for teaching. Most of them are great teachers. Ms. Atregenio , my math teacher, made me interested in Math. Now, that’s great because I’m not really into math. She has a way of convincing you that Math is cool. This weekend my parents and siblings went to Tagaytay for a vacation. I felt like I’m the king of the house since I was left in charge of the house and the maids. I enjoyed power tripping! I could go anywhere and everywhere without asking for permission. They even left me some money so I spent it well. I went out with Ez, Mark and L.A. to Gateway. Mark then treated us at Cibo for his B-day celebration. Anyway, HAPPY B-Day Mark! This week I am back to debating. I arrive home at 9pm occasionally because of training. It’s worth it though because I learn a lot, understand how things work, be more competitive, support my opinions, think critically and liberate others from ignorance. I have become aware of the social issues that we face. It’s an avenue to be heard and to learn as well. I love debate and I hope to keep the fire going. Allez-on courage Claret!!
