Today I’ve relearned the concept of giving others the chance. Let’s just say that what happened yesterday with me and Mark was just a minor feud. I’m happy because everything went well. Honestly, I don’t know how to go about with my day because I don’t know how to act as if nothing happened. All I did was pray and wait for something good to happen. I felt the rift was shattered when we had a talk before debating. We cleared things up and I feel light because I was able to forgive him. I learned to swallow my pride and it really uplifts my burdens. Somehow I can respire easily. I also know that I acted strange yesterday and I also had some faults since I lost to all the pressures and I completely lost my temper. I’m glad that we are in good terms and that he is willing to take the “respect issue” accordingly. By the way, we won the debate a while ago even if we just got out of a dispute. We were team mates a while ago and we got the highest point! I’m just happy about that because I never thought that we would win that round knowing that me and mark are just newbies. I was just moved by Estelle (one of our debate teachers). She proved to us that through dedication you could achieve what you want. I’m now adapting “If it can be imagined, it can be done” philosophy in my life. I’m going all out in my efforts with regard to debating. It may be hard or tiring but all it takes is determination. I’m just so moved by this win and I’m just going to give my all. I love the way Claretian debaters accept the concept of winning with dignity and fighting with honor. I’m starting to think that debate isn’t just about credentials for myself. It’s about being concerned and aware with regard to society. It’s not just about debating for myself. It’s for God, for school, for honor and for the the debsoc as a whole.
